Visual Design

Design is a misunderstood term. Too often, emphasis is placed on the visuals and little else. We are good visual designers only because we attach objective criteria to the subjective process of making good looking products. Who is going to use this? What are the business requirements? What are the user goals? After we define the goals, we use principles of good visual design such as color, lines and grids to create work that looks good to the audience it is intended for. Good visual design is not simple design, it is refined design that meets the objectives that were set out even before the first pixel was placed on-screen.
